International Foundation Programme은 학생이 대학 학부로 진학 전 필요한 영어와 학습 기술 등을 다져주는 프로그램이다. 학생이 Foundation 프로그램을 시작하면 대학 학부로부터 조건부 입학 허가서를 받을 수 있다. 학생이 성공적으로 Foundation프로그램을 마치고 학부가 원하는 성적을 만족 시켰을 경우 학생은 바로 선택한 학부로의 진학이 가능하다.

International Foundation Programme Arts
이 과정은 학생이 Arts학부 1학년 진학 준비 과정이다. 학부가 요구하는 점수를 달성한 학생은 Arts학부의 학과로 진학이 가능하다.

*Pre-Masters Diploma for International Students
Pre-Master Diploma 프로그램은 국제학생들이 영국의 석사과정 진학을 준비하는 과정이다. 이 과정은 학사 학위가 있고, 석사 진학을 위한 영어 공부와 학문적인 기술을 더 쌓고 싶은 학생에게 알맞은 과정이다.

이 프로그램은 아래 세가지 요소로 나뉘어 있다.
English language and academic skills (50% of the programme)
이 과정에서 가장 집중하는 부분은 학생의 영어 실력을 발전 시키는 것이다. 학생은 이 프로그램을 통해 대학 학문을 능률적으로 읽고, 강의를 따라가며 노트하는 방법, 에세이 구조와 격식이 있는 writing을 하는 방법을 배우게 될 것이다.
Academic study in a Royal Holloway department (25% of the programme)
학생이 Royal Holloway 석사 레벨에서 공부할 수 있게 준비시켜준다. 학생은 영국 혹은 다른 국적의 학사 학부 학생들과 하나에서 두 개 정도의 학과 과정을 듣게 될 것이며, 이 경험은 영국의 대학문화를 바로 접하여 석사 진학 전 미리 시작하여 볼 수 있는 경험이다.
Independent Research Project (25% of the programme)
영국의 모든 석사 과정은 논문 혹은 연구 프로젝트를 요구한다. 이 과정은 학생이 8,000-10,000 자의 연구 프로젝트 논문을 써 봄으로써 석사과정 시 제출해야 할 논문형식에 익숙해질 기회를 준다.

입학 조건:

• 우수한 성적으로 3-5년의 대학 학위를 가지고 있는 자
• 관련 직무 경험이 있는 자
• 영어 조건:
• IELTS: 5.5 (모든 항목 최소 5.0)

Pre-sessional English language programmes
Pre-sessional English language programmes는 국제 학생들을 위한 집중적인 영어 준비 과정이다. 프로그램은 대게 4주, 8주와 12주의 프로그램이 있다.

프로그램 디테일

• Pre-sessional Parts 1 & 2: Weeks 1-4 & 5-8
  첫 두 파트는 학생의 영어의 전체적인 능숙함을 높이기 위해 디자인 되었다.
• Pre-sessional Part 3: Weeks 9-12
  세 번째 파트는 Royal Holloway의 대학 커뮤니티에 대한 발견에 더 중점을 두고 있으며, Royal Holloway의 대학 학부들이 학생들에게 무엇을 기대하고 바라는지에 대한 이해력을 배우게 된다.

평가
주어진 주제로 에세이 작성. 석사과정 학생들은 2,000자 가량의 글을 써야 하고, 학사과정의 학생들은 1,500자의 에세이를 써야 한다.
구두의 프레젠테이션. 5분 가량의 개별 프레젠테이션을 하여야 한다.
토론 기술. 학생은 그룹 토론에서 어떻게 기여하는지에 따라 평가될 것이다.

입학 조건:

• 4주: 진학하는 학부의 요구보다 0.5점이 낮은 학생
• 8주: 진학하는 학부의 요구보다 1.0점이 낮은 학생
• 12주: 진학하는 학부의 요구보다 1.5점이 낮은 학생

In-sessional English language support
In-sessional English language support 프로그램은 영어가 모국어가 아닌 풀타임 혹은 교환학생들을 위해 개설 되었다. 이 과정은 학생이 일대일 상담으로 학기 내 일어날 수 있는 어려움으로부터 도와준다.

• writing an essay using the appropriate structure and academic style
• following academic lectures
• taking part in academic discussions with native speakers
• giving presentations

또한 이 과정은 구체적인 분야에도 도움을 주고 있다.

• grammar for written English
• pronunciation skills (vowel/consonant sounds, intonation, stress)
• understanding the news in English and discussing current affairs

학생이 이 과정을 신청하고 싶다면 registration sessions으로 학생의 시간표, 학생증 그리고 £10을 가지고 찾아가면 된다.

Background to Modern Britain
Background to Modern Britain 과정은 국제학생들에게 다양한 현대의 중요한 영국사회를 소개시켜주기 위해 만들어 졌다.

1주일마다 시작하여 매주 다른 주제와 시각적, 청각적 재료로 수업이 진행이 된다.

이 과정은 학생의 과정에 내장되어 있는 과정이므로 학생이 절반 과정을 듣는다면 £10.00를 지불하면 교육재료는 커버가 되며 학생이 만약 추가의 과목으로 이 과정의 절반을 듣는다면 £30.00을 지불해야 교육재료와 관리비가 커버가 된다.
